Pune : deccan express – Pune Crime | A talathi was beaten up by a mob of 8-10 people while two trucks illegally carrying sand on Pune-Solapur highway were impounded and were taken to the Khadakmal Ali.
Tehsildar Trupti Kolte Patil’s car driver was abused and an impounded truck was stolen away. This incident happened on Friday morning in front of the Rukari petrol pump at Shewalwadi on the highway.
A complaint has been lodged by talathi Rajesh Dnyandev Divate (30) of Manjari at the Hadapsar police station. Tehsildar Kolte Patil and Divate took action against the two trucks. The impounded trucks were being taken to the Haveli Tehsil Office at Khadakmal Ali. The mob stopped a truck on the pretext of a minor accident. They started arguing with the talathi.
The mob beat him up with a wooden log. The driver of Kolte Patil’s car was abused and manhandled by them. Thus, they obstructed government work. They also stole away a truck. The driver on another truck ran away. The Hadapsar police booked the members of the mob.
PSI Shelke is investigating the case.
