One more case of cheating in bitcoin investment in Pune: FIR filed against Satish Kumbhani of BitConnect, 6 others in Rs 42 crore fraud case

A lawyer from Kondhwa Budruk has lodged a complaint at the cyber police station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against the owner of BitConnect company Satish Kumbhani, owner of ATCC Coin Satish Javaria, Ranjit Saxena of Dikhado Coin, Divyesh Darzi, Veeresh Charantimath, Rakesh Divyesh Darzi and Mehul Pachigar. The incident took place from January 2016 to June 2021.


According to the police, the accused gained the confidence of the complainant and told him that investment in ATCC Coin, Dikhado Coin and other fake crypto currencies yields high returns and forced him to invest in ponzi schemes of various bitcoins. He was told that he had got 166 bitcoins as returns on an investment of 54 bitcoins.


Later, on the advice of Divyesh Darzi and Veeresh Charantimath, he was forced to invest 220 bitcoins in ponzi schemes of different crypto currencies. Later, when he checked, he found that not a single bitcoin was showing in his account. He realised that he had been cheated and lodged a complaint with the cyber police. At present, the price of one bitcoin is Rs 19 lakh 36 thousand 964. Hence, the value of his original investment of 54 coins is Rs 10 crore 45 lakh. He has mentioned in his complaint that he has been cheated of 220 bitcoins i.e. Rs 42 crore 61 lakh.
