Pune: Deccan Express – Pune Crime | Criminals involved in burglaries, vehicle thefts and fraud were arrested by officials of unit one of Pune police crime branch. The accused have committed offences in the jurisdiction of various police stations, an investigation has revealed. The police have arrested three accused. (Pune Crime)
A senior citizen staying in Navi Khadki was collecting money for Haj yatra in front of a mosque in Bhavani Peth. An unknown person approached him and told that he would double the money which the senior citizen had. The stranger took Rs 19,000 from him and decamped on a two-wheeler. The senior citizen lodged a complaint at the Samarth police station after realising that he had been cheated.
When the officials of unit one of Pune police crime branch were probing burglary, vehicle theft and other cases, they saw that the accused in the case had been captured by a CCTV camera. The police arrested Abdul Kadir Shaikh (36), a resident of Kondhwa Khurd and handed him over to the Samarth police.
The police arrested Rohit Deepak Satpute (25), a resident of Hadapsar for a house break-in case registered at Chatuhshrungi police station. He was arrested on Shivaji Road after laying a trap. Satpute is a notorious criminal and 15 cases of house break-ins are registered against him at various police stations. He has been handed over to the officials of Chatuhshrungi police station.
A minor was detained from Santosh Nagar in Katraj under the limits of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station. An Activa scooter worth Rs 25,000 was seized from him. He has been handed over to the officials of the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station.
The action was taken by a team of police officials including Senior PI Sandeep Bhosale, PSI Sanjay Gaikwad, PSI Ajay Jadhav, policemen Mahesh Bamgude, Rahul Makhre, Shashikant Darekar, Shubham Desai, Aniket Babar, Datta Sonawane and Abhinav Ladkat under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Gajanan Tompe.
