Couple robbed of mobile, mangalsutra in Bopdev Ghat

Pune: Deccan ExpressPune Crime | A police chowki was set up in the Bopdev Ghat as many travellers in the night were being robbed. Despite this, a couple who was travelling on a bike through the ghat were assaulted with a sword and robbed. (Pune Crime)


Balu Baban Jadhav (42), a resident of Gujarwadi, Katraj has lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa police station. An FIR has been filed against the two accused.


According to the police, Balu Jadhav was proceeding with his wife to his village Vaghapur in Purandar taluka via the Bopdev Ghat on Wednesday at 10.30 pm. He stopped on the way to answer nature’s call. Two people came on a bike. They threatened him with a sword and demanded money.


When Jadhav resisted, he was hit on the head with the sword. The accused took away Jadhav’s mobile and mangalsutra of his wife worth Rs 60,000.
