Pune: Deccan Express Pune Crime | An incident of Jog Education Trust cheating the Education Department by preparing a self recognition certificate by making a false signature has come to light. Fake documents of getting fees of 25 per cent free admissions in 11 schools of the trust were submitted by principals to primary education officers of the zilla parishad. It has been proved that officials in the Education Department had taken a bribe of Rs 2.75 lakh to prepare the documents. A case has been filed against actor Pushkar Jog’s mother Surekha Jog and others.
Zilla Parishad’s Education Officer Kisan Dattoba Bhujbal (53) has lodged a complaint at the Bund Garden police station. Accordingly, a case has been filed against President of Jog Education Trust Surekha Suhas Jog, senior assistant Gautam Shankar Shedge, retired deputy education officer Kishan Pawar and Manrega’s senior assistant Hemant Savalkar. The incident took place from January 1 2019 to May 24, 2022.
A complaint had been made to the Education Department. When an enquiry was made, the matter came to light. An investigation by the Pune police has revealed that Kishore Pawar and Hemant Savalkar took Rs 25,000 per certificate i.e. Rs 2,75,000 for 11 certificates from the education trust. Savalkar entered the premises of zilla parishad and took photographs of the register without taking anybody’s permission and sent them to school employee Mahesh Kulkarni. Similarly, an online application was made to the Education Department to get reimbursement of fees admissions under RTE category.
Police Inspector Sunil Khedekar of the Economic Offences Wing of Pune police is investigating the case.
