Builder Suryakant Kakade, Krishna Guruji, seven others booked in two offences

Pune : Deccan ExpressPune Crime | City-based builder Suryakant Kadade and eight others have been booked for harassing his daughter-in-law for not bearing a baby boy. They also indulged in black magic to subjugate her. She was forced to drink unhygienic water mixed with a powder. They also did not reveal to her that their son and her husband was earlier married.


The Kothrud police registered an offence against nine people in this regard. The accused have been identified as real estate developer Suryakant Dattatraya Kakade, Kavita Suryakant Kakade, Jay Suryakant Kakade, Vijay Suryakant Kakade, Ajay Suryakant Kakade, all residents of Kothrud, Ashwini Pujari, Sushant Pawar and Krishna Guruji.


A 24-year-old woman, a resident of Kondhwa, lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa police station in this regard. The incident took place between May 14, 2021 and December 24, 2021 at Sarvatra Society.


According to the police, Suryakant Kakade is a renowned builder. His son Jay Kakade was married earlier. They hid this fact from the complainant and her relatives. The accused tortured her mentally and physically. They also robbed her of her jewellery. They cheated on her. Suryakant Kakade molested, abused and beat up the complainant. They also forced the complainant and her sister to drink the unhygienic water given by Krishna Guruji. They kept a lemon inscribed with her name under her bed.


They also recorded intimate images of the complainant and her sister. They threatened her to make this clip viral on social media. They threatened her father to not lodge any complaint against them anywhere. They told the complainant and her relatives that they were connected to underworld don Chhota Rajan. They also had relations with influential politicians. They threatened to kill her. They defaced the complainant and her sister by writing separate letters and levelling allegations against them.


The accused have been booked under 498 (A), 494, 406, 420, 324, 342, 509, 323, 504, 506 (2), 500, 34 sections of the IPC; the Prevention of Witchcraft Act under the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act and the IT Act.


Later, another offence was registered against the accused under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013.


The 24-year-old woman lodged two separate complaints in this regard.
