Pune : Deccan Express – Pune Crime Branch Police | Police of Unit 3 of Pune Crime Branch has arrested a criminal. A pistol and a round of ammunition worth Rs 40,400 were seized from the accused. The crime branch police conducted the operation on Thursday (Dt.19) near Vedanti Family Garden Restaurant and Bar.
The accused has been identified as Rohan Balasaheb Gabdule (27, resident of Maruti Mandir, Kirkitwadi, Haveli). The accused is a criminal on the records of the Haveli police station and a case has been registered against him. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against the accused at Warje Malwadi Police Station.
Police officers and staff of Crime Branch Unit 3 were patrolling the premises of Warje Malwadi Police Station. At that time, police constable Deepak Kshirsagar came to know that Rohan Gabdule, a criminal on record, was standing on the public road in front of Vedanti restaurant and had a pistol. According to the information received, the police set a trap and arrested the accused. During the interrogation, they seized a pistol and a live cartridge worth Rs 40,400.
The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Crime Branch Ashok Morale, Deputy Commissioner of Police Srinivas Ghadge, Assistant Commissioner of Police Surendra Deshmukh and ACP Surendra Deshmukh by the team of Crime Branch Unit 3 Senior Police Inspector Abhay Mahajan, Assistant Inspector of Police Amrita Chavre, Sub-Inspector of Police Dattatraya Kale, Police Officer Assistant Police Faujdar Nimbalkar, Police Constable Santosh Kshirsagar, Police officer Kalpesh Bansode, Prakash Katte, Sujit Pawar, Women Police Constable Bhagyashree Waghmare.
