Pune : Deccan Express GA Software Technologies Director Pritish Deshmukh who had been arrested in connection with TET scam in 2017-18, has been released on bail by the Pune Sessions Court. Sessions Judge Mrs VA Patravale has granted bail to Deshmukh.
In 2017-18, the state government held recruitment exams for teachers. The contract for conducting the exam was given to GA Software and it has been alleged that unqualified and incompetent candidates were declared as passed by senior officials of the company after hatching a conspiracy. When the scandal was exposed, Maharashtra State Education Board President Dattatray Jagtap had lodged a complaint with the Pune Cyber Police. Pritish Deshmukh had been arrested in connection with the case on December 22, 2021 and the accused had made a bail application through his lawyer Ad Vijaysingh Thombre.
The Pune Cyber Police have completed the probe into the case and they have submitted a chargesheet in the case. The High Court had observed that a meeting of the accused does not amount to hatching a plan or a conspiracy. Ad Thombre said the accused was not working in the company during the scam and was wrongly shown as the director. The lawyer also gave examples of some judgements of high courts and the Supreme Court and said that ‘Bail is the rule and jail is the exception.’ Session Judge Mrs VA Patravale, considering the arguments of lawyers of both the sides, granted bail to Pritish Deshmukh by asking him to furnish a bond of Rs 50,000. He has been told not to tamper with the evidence and banned from travelling abroad.
In this case, Ad Vijaysingh Thombre, Ad Hitesh Sonar and Ad Ashutosh Shelke represented the accused. Vishnu Hoge helped them.
