Rajgurunagar : Deccan Express – Maharashtra Crime News | A case has been registered against seven suspects in the murder of notorious goon Rahul alias Pappu Kalyan Wadekar under the Maharashtra Organized Crime Prevention Act (MCOCA), said Khed police station inspector Satish Gurav. Pappu Wadekar was killed by a gang of ten on the night of July 11 near Holewadi on Pabal Road using a pistol, sharp tools and stones. Tousif Sheikh, Milind Jagdale, Vijay alias Bunty Jagdale, Mayur Jagdale, Jitendra Gopale, Praveen alias Maruti Thigale and Pawan Thorat are the seven suspects in the murder case, while three others are absconding. In addition to the murder case, the MCOCA clause has also been imposed on the seven arrested persons.
Tousif Sheikh, a suspect in the case, formed an organized gang. It was concluded that Tousif, the gang leader, had committed several crimes with various members of the gang. He also perpetrated a series of crimes by terrorizing the gang. It turned out that he was living a life of luxury for his own financial gain. The investigation also concluded that their actions have created an atmosphere of fear among the citizens and created panic in Khed and Ambegaon talukas and their environs.
Therefore, as per the order of Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh, Khed Inspector of Police Satish Gurav had submitted a proposal against these seven accused under Section 23 (1) (a) of the Maharashtra Organized Crime Act 1999 to Manoj Lohia, Special Inspector General of Police, Kolhapur. With the approval of Lohia, the offense has been augmented under Section 3 (1) (i) (ii), 3 (4) of the Maharashtra Organized Crime Control Act, 1999.
