Deccan Express | Pune police have formed multiple teams to probe various angles in the double murder case of a woman and her eight-year-old son.
Dead bodies of Ayan Shaikh and mother Aliya Abid Shaikh were found in different areas in Pune district on Tuesday. While Aliya’s husband Abid is still missing. To probe the case, Pune city police have formed multiple teams. Sagar Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police said, “We have formed seven teams.”
When asked, whether Abid is suspect in the case, Sagar said, “We are probing in all possible direction.”
The family hailed from Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, and resided here near Lohegaon.
The police are also in touch with the other family members from Madhya Pradesh. “We are yet to talk to family in detail. Some family members are expected to reach Pune on Wednesday late night,” informed Sagar.
The boy was found near Katraj tunnel. There were no injuries on the boy’s body. The woman’s body, with injury marks on the throat, was found on Saswad-Jejuri road near Saswad.
A parallel investigation of double murder by Saswad police
The Saswad police which comes under Pune Rural police jurisdiction is also conducting the investigation of the double murder case. According to the police, they are also searching for Abid to get more clarity about the case.
Officials from the Saswad police said, “We have also formed a team to investigate the case. The family had rented a car. The GPS-enabled car helped us to get details about car’s location at different times.”
According to police, the car traveled in various parts of the Pune and outskirts of the city including Saswad and some parts of the National Highway four. The police couldn’t find Abid’ location as his mobile is switched off. “Abid’s mobile was on till he parked the rented car near Market Yard area.” The police are also checking CCTV footage from different locations in Pune and nearby areas.
