Woman’s body found stuffed in sofa in Dombivali

Dombivali : deccan expressDombivli Crime |  A shocking incident has come to light in Dombivali wherein a woman has been brutally killed in Davadi area of Dombivali east. It was found that the woman’s body had been stuffed in a sofa of her residence.


According to preliminary investigation, the woman may have been killed by throttling her neck. However, it is not yet clear who is responsible for the murder. A case has been registered at the Manpada police station.


The woman has been identified as Supriya Kishor Shinde. The Shinde family stays in Shivshakti Nagar in Davadi area. Kishor had gone to his office and their son had gone to the school and Supriya was alone in the house. Since Supriya did not go to the school to pick up her son, family members and relatives raised an alarm.


The door of the house was opened with the key kept in the neighbour’s house. However, Supriya could not be found. After Kishore came home from office, he approached the Manpada police station.


Some of Shinde’s relatives and neighbours entered the house and they saw that the sofa had been tampered. They were shocked when they searched the sofa. They found that Supriya’s body had been stuffed in the sofa. Senior police inspector Shekhar Bagade, police inspector Anil Padwal and police officer Avinash Vanve immediately rushed to Shinde’s residence.


The police carried out a panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem. The police are trying to find out who killed Supriya and they have detained a few persons in connection with the case.
