CP Amitabh Gupta acts against six goons from the Nilesh Ghaiwal gang under MCOCA

Pune : deccan express –  Commissioner of Police Amithabh Gupta has been acting against dreaded criminals in Pune under the Maharashtra control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). In the latest such action, six gangsters from the Nilesh Ghaiwal gang have been arrested under the MCOCA. The gang terrorised citizens within the jurisdiction of the Kothrud police station. The gang has committed serious crimes. CP Gupta has so far acted against 65 gangs in the city.


The goons have been identified as gang leader Mayur alias Rakesh Gulab Kumbare (27), Omkar alias Chikya Phatak (23), Manish Ramkrishna Mathvad (22), Ganesh Satish Raut (23), Sameer Khengare and Ravan alias Tushar Polekar.


Among serious crime committed by the gang include murder, attempt to murder, robberies, threatening for extortion, serious injury, damage to citizens’ properties, causing injury with lethal weapons and terrorising. Even after preventive action, they continued to commit crimes.


Senior PI Mahendra Jagtap of Kothrud police station prepared a proposal in this regard. It was presented to Addl CP Rajendra Dahale through DCP Purnima Gaikwad. The Addl CP approved it and action was taken.


The 65th action under MCOCA

CP Amitabh Gupta has been taking stringent measures to control crime in the city. Gangs committing crimes causing physical hurt and damaging properties have been acted against under the MCOCA. In all, they have taken action against 65 gangs.


The action was taken under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, DCP Purnima Gaikwad, ACP Rukmini Galande. Senior PI Mahendra Jagtap, PI Balasaheb Bade, PSI Ratikant Koli, PSI Pravin Kulkarni, police personnel Bhaskar Buchade and Ajay Sawant participated in the action.
