Mumbai: A suspicious SUV containing 20 gelatin sticks was found outside billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilla on Peddar Road in Mumbai on Thursday. The abandoned Scorpio vehicle was spotted by the Ambanis’ security staff and soon the local police were informed.
The team of Mumbai police reached the spot after receiving information about the suspicious car. Besides the Mumbai Dog Squad and the Bomb Prevention Squad, the ATS team also reached. The ATS is investigating the terrorist angle.
According to the information, Scorpio was parked outside Antilla at around 1 pm on Wednesday night. Two vehicles were seen there, including an Innova.
After receiving the information about the suspicious car, the security personnel of Ambani’s house informed the local police, after which several policemen reached the spot and started investigating the car.
During the investigation, the anti-bomb squad found several gelatin sticks inside the vehicle, after which the dog squad was also sent to the spot.
Some number plates have also been found inside the SUV found near Antilla. It has matched the number plates of the vehicles which are for the protection of Mukesh Ambani.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh confirmed that a gelatin car found near the residence of Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police is investigating the case.
